Two Grant Contracts Worth 36 Million HRK to Be Financed from IPA 2011 Programme Signed

On May 19, 2015, two Grant Contracts were signed between Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) and Croatian Mine Action Centre (CROMAC) by which 4.759.373 EUR have been allocated for demining operations. The EU contribution totals 3.973.000 EUR.

The funds will be used to realize projects entitled «Demining programme on areas affected by floods in Vukovar-Srijem County» in accordance with demining project proposal entitled «Area of B.U.Topolovac and B.U. Debrinja», layout area: 762.831 sq.m. and « Demining programme on areas affected by floods in Osijek-Baranja County» in accordance with demining project proposal entitled «Inundation zone of the river Drava on the territory of municipalities of Jagodnjak, Darda and Petrijevci», layout area: 3.977.000 sq.m.

Realization of demining project on the territory of Vukovar-Srijem County will contribute to realization of strategic goal set for the current year i.e. complete removal of mine danger from the territory of Vukovar-Srijem County while the realization of demining operations on the territory of Osijek-Baranja County will enable more integrated solving of the flood protection problematics on the areas along the river Drava. Since 2011, with the expert assistance from CFCA and Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, CROMAC has successfully ensured EU grants worth 18,8 million EUR for financing demining operations through 10 different grant contracts.
