China: United Way is acting

Alexandria, Virginia | USA - United Way International (UWI) established an Asia Disaster Recovery Fund in this May right after the disasters happened in Myanmar and China in response to long-term community recovery and development by collaborating with Hope Foundation, China Charity Federation and other NGOs. And since then, UWI has received commitments from Community Chest of Korea, Royal Bank of Canada, ITW (Illinois Tools Work) and many individuals who want to help lives of those affected areas return to normal as quickly as possible. UWI is now working closely with United Way member in China, the China Charity Federation, and several other national-level NGOs on assessing the needs and taking on various projects. UWl is devoting in the long-term reconstruction efforts in affected areas.
