Highlights

  • UNICEF has delivered supply worth 1.2 million US$ for immediate assistance to 50,000 new returnees and refugees in the border area of Tissi following renewed violence in Darfur, Sudan

  • 40,540 Severe Acute Malnutrition new admissions have been registered as of April, representing 32.2% of the 127,000 admissions expected in 2013

  • In response to the circulating Vaccine Derived Polio Virus (cVDPV) case confirmed in the district of Aboudeia, UNICEF, in collaboration with the MOH, WHO and partners, conducted the first tour of mass vaccination campaigns in 3 regions, Batha, Guera and Salamat, from 26-28 April 2013.
