A three-day workshop on the role of youth and women in changing the society was concluded on Wednesday at the Gaga refugee camp in eastern Chad.

One of the trainees, Mohamed Abdallah, reported to Radio Dabanga that the workshop was organised by the Hiyaz organisation providing social services at the camp.

Twenty-two men and women participated in the workshop that addressed the role of the youth in changing the society for the better; how to fight sexual violence, and how women can participate in resolving social issues.

Abdallah noted that the workshop came up with a number of proposals to resolve some social problems including awareness raising, guidance in schools, and solidarity with imams and elders to highlight their role in raising awareness on the issues of early marriage, sexual violence, and encouraging children to study.
