Situation Overview:

Tension remains high in the country as the disarmament programme is underway in Bangui and Bossangoa. On 10 December, an ex-Chief of staff in charge of ex-Seleka operations, General Mahamat Saleh was killed during clashes in Bangui.

Due to increased tension in Bossangoa, the distribution of food assistance is being negotiated with both communities where more troops are urgently needed.

In Bambari (Ouaka province), tension remains high amongst the local population due to rumors of a confrontation between the anti-Balaka militia and ex- Seleka members.
