Operational Updates

  • WFP, in collaboration with the Council for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) of the Royal Government of Cambodia, UN agencies and development partners, celebrated the third National Nutrition Day to raise awareness and support the community in achieving optimal nutrition status for children in Cambodia. The aim of the Nutrition Day this year was to emphasize both WASH and nutrition, highlighting the cross-cutting multisectoral issue in Cambodia under the theme "Improved Hygiene and Nutrition Make Children Grow". In total, 700 participants attended the event, including officials and staff from different line ministries, UN agencies, donor agencies and private sector partners

  • The nutrition team hosted a stakeholder meeting on adolescent nutrition at the WFP country office this month. The meeting aimed to introduce and discuss this topic as the subject of an upcoming study that WFP will lead, and to seek input from colleagues on issues related to adolescents and nutrition in Cambodia. One part of the study will be looking at existing or potential channels of communication for adolescents, as well as identifying gaps in understanding and information around adolescents in Cambodia.
