Takhar Province, Namak Ab District Floods, Incident Report No. 01
I. HIGHLIGHTS/KEY PRIORITIES
• On 21 June, flash floods destroyed/damaged 30 houses in Namak Ab district of Takhar province.
• One person was killed by lightning during the heavy rainfall.
II. Situation Overview
On 21 June, flash floods happened in Namak Ab district in Takhar province. Initial report from local authorities suggests that more than 30 houses have been damaged in Namak Ab district. In addition, one person is reported to have been killed by lightning during the heavy down pour.
ANDMA in Takhar has proposed for a rapid assessment team drawn from ANDMA, WFP, ANDMA, ARCS and Local authorities to conduct an inter-agency rapid assessment on 24 June.
III. Humanitarian Needs and Response
Needs: assessment is ongoing and needs are not identified.
Response: To be determined based on assessment report.
Gaps & Constraints: waiting for the assessment reports.
IV. Coordination
ANDMA and OCHA are coordinating with humanitarian agencies in carrying out a rapid assessment in Namak Ab district.
