2. Assessment Finding and Recommendation in brief:

In link to Mansoory military operation from EIA side over the country; on 5th May Taliban attacked on ANA and ALP basis in Qalaizal district. Late evening on 5 May the security situation further intensified and finally on 6 May-17 Qalaizal district including district center fall down completely in to the hand of Taliban domain. This invasion caused massive displacement from Qalaizal district and villages loddin-Payeen, Dokan-Adam khan, and Char-sarai along Kunduz-Khanabad road. Majority of the families displaced inside Qalaizal district while about 700 families displaced to Kunduz city/ outskirts (Chil dukhtaran, Sari-Dawrah, Kocha Panjsheria, Karta-e-Faizabad, Turakmana, Aruz-begi, Madrasa Khayaban, Asyab-e-shirkat, and Majur Qeshlaq villages).

Similarly, on 6-May Taliban controlled the main highway between Kunduz to Khanabad, and attached on some security check posts between Qabri-Gulistan and Char-sarai area along main road. As a result of heavy firing between Taliban and Afghan GOVT approximately 2400 families left their houses and displaced toward back and about 922 families also displaced to Kunduz city.
Soon after the notification on 6-May-017 NRC lead a joint assessment with other humanitarian agencies and identified 141 families eligible for assistance. As of 15th of May NRC DACAAR and WFP responded to 141 HHs.

Similarly, the second phase of assessment which was between (9-12 May-017) also responded on 21st of May.

The third phase of assessment started by the joint assessment team on 14 May and ended on 21 –May 017. During this period teams found 237 HHs eligible for ERM standard assistance out of 371 visited HHs.

The average household size for this caseload is 5.59 members. Furthermore 96% of the beneficiaries has listed food as their first priority followed by NFIs is the same %
