The influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon has significantly increased this year. From the first to the second half of 2012 there has been a shift from a small onset situation of 6,000 refugees in January, to an increasing movement of people across the border up to 25,000 in-country by July, to a much larger critical displacement of over 170,000 refugees expected by the end of the year (exceeding RRP3 figures).

Conclusions principales

Cette ‘Joint Assessment Mission’ (JAM) qui est la sixième du genre depuis l’arrivée des réfugiés centrafricains (2005) et tchadiens (2008) au Cameroun avait pour objectif de faire une évaluation de leur situation actuelle en termes de sécurité alimentaire et d’autosuffisance.

Pour les Réfugiés centrafricains

• 55% des ménages centrafricains sont en insécurité alimentaire, dont 18% dans sa forme sévère et 37% dans sa forme modérée. Ces résultats sont très voisins lorsqu’on passe des ménages assistés aux ménages non assistés.

As of January 2011, UNHCR reported that there were more than 106,000 refugees and asylum seekers living in Cameroon, over 14,000 of them living in urban and peri-urban areas. The majority come from neighbouring and nearby states such as Burundi, the Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sudan.
