The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has extended additional financial support to UNDP in Pakistan for US$ 1.3 million bringing its total contribution to US$ 6.7 million for community infrastructure restoration and rehabilitation in the crisis affected areas of district Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Data on loss and damage is a critical input for disaster risk management. Improvements would enhance data quality, utility and credibility and serve the disaster risk reduction community at international and national levels.

Washington, D.C. – A discussion on "Building on Progress in Afghanistan: 2014 and Beyond” was held in Washington today at an event organized in partnership between the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), offering a big picture of the country’s current situation and development challenges.

A similar briefing with Afghanistan partners was organized on 9 May in New York, co-hosted by the Afghan Mission to the United Nations and the UNDP.

07 May 2013 Kabul, Afghanistan | Today UNESCO, UNDP, Afghanistan Ministry of Information and Culture and Afghanistan Journalists Federation jointly celebrated the World Press Freedom Day under the global theme “Safe to Speak: Securing Freedom of Expression in All Media”. The Afghan observance came three days after the event was launched on 3 May at a ceremony held in San Jose, Costa Rica to mark the global launch.
