Two kidnapped children freed from Lake State cattle rustlers

January 31, 2012 (BENTIU) - Group of criminal gangs suspected to have come have stolen over 300 head of cattle and abducted two children in “Dhorkiere” from west Pachar payam of Payinjiar County of Unity State.

Unity State officials allege that the cattle raiders came from Amongpiny and Malek Payams of Rumbek Central County of Lakes State.

According to Peter Gai Joak, the area commissioner, said that the South Sudan army (SPLA) and police recovered the stolen cows and the two abducted children on Monday 30 January.

September 13, 2011 (JUBA) - Heavy rainfall in Northern Bahr el Ghazal have forced thousands from their homes in Aweil town, the state capital, as swollen rivers washed away roads making rescue efforts difficult, government and aid officials said on Tuesday.

Jonglei: Food supplies cut off by flooded roads

August 21, 2011 (BOR) – Trade between Bor and Panyagor counties of Jonglei state has been halted after heavy rains submerged shallow parts of the road rgus stopping the supply of badly needed food items.

Ayuel Arok, a trader who supplies sorghum to Paliau and Panyagor Payams (districts) of Twic East county told the Sudan Tribune on Saturday in Bor that his vehicle could not navigate through the floods. His car had to be pulled out by tractor when it got stuck between Jalle and Mar.
