ANKARA, March 21 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) on Tuesday signed with Turkey three agreements worth USD 15 million to contribute to the response plan of Syrian refugees living in the Turkish cities of Gaziantep, Kilis and Sanliurfa.
The agreements were signed by KFAED's Director General Abdul-Wahab Al-Bader and Mayors of Gaziantep, Kilis and Sanliurfa, in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
IRBIL, March 18 (KUNA) Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has delivered food and medical aid to internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have fled violence in Mosul and are now staying at Irbil's southwestern Jamkur refugee camp.
ANKARA, March 17 (KUNA) Kuwait's International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) Friday with Turkey's Red Crescent on building joint strategic partnership to aid the poor and needy in wartorn countries.
For his part, IICO's President Dr. Abdullah AlMaatouq praised the enthusiastic and cooperative spirit shown by the Turkish Red Crescent while signing the MoU, pointing out several common grounds between the Kuwaiti and Turkish institutions in the humanitarian action field.
BEIRUT, March 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered on Thursday 500 food parcels to Syrian refugees in Lebanon's northernmost region of Akkar.
The head of the KRCS team, Qassem Ahmad, told KUNA that each portion is sufficient for a five-member family for a month.
The team has also inspected work of teams tasked with distributing bread, baked at local bakeries, to the refugees regularly, part of the ongoing and regular Kuwaiti relief efforts for relieving the Syrian refugees, totally estimated at 1.5 million.
ISTANBUL, March 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Al-Rahma International and "Ataa charity for relief and development" agreed on establishing a USD three million fund to support small Syrian enterprises. This came during the Syria's Developmental Vistas Conference which kicked off in the Turkish capital on Wednesday, with the participation of international charities, including co-organizers Al-Rahma. Ataa charity, involved in relief operations for the Syrian people, is registered in Turkey.
