ERBID, Jordan, July 23 (KUNA) -- Some 174 Syrian students graduated from Jordan's Queen Rania Center at Yarmouk University after receiving grants worth a total USD 700,000 from Kuwait.
Addressing the ceremony, Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij reiterated the country's leading humanitarian role in support of the "Syrian brothers," inspired by Kuwait's political leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
BAGHDAD, July 15 (KUNA) -- One person was killed and seven others wounded in a car bomb in Baghdad on Saturday, Iraqi police said.
A roadside car bomb exploded near a public bank at New Baghdad Area in southeast Baghdad, a police source told KUNA.
The seven people who were wounded in the blast were taken to a nearby hospital for necessary medical treatment, the source added. (end) ahh.mt
IRBIL, July 13 (KUNA) -- Kuwait on Thursday delivered 30 tons of food aid to the eastern district of Iraqi city of Mosul. Public Relations Officer at Ronahee Foundation Saleh Mahdi told KUNA that 30 tons of essential food items have arrived in Mosul.
He lauded Kuwait's important and unmatched aid and support to Mosul's war victims.
Moreover, Mahdi thanked Kuwait for helping people facing severe malnutrition in the war-torn Iraqi city, as "mass starvation is threatening the lives of around 10,000 people.
RIYADH, July 12 (KUNA) -- The "Kuwait is by your side" campaign on Wednesday handed out medical assistance to residents of an area in Yemen's Al-Dalea governorate to combat cholera epidemic.
Al-Dalea's health office has exerted many efforts, in collaboration with partners, to prevent the spread of the epidemic, the campaign said in a statement, citing Dr. Mohammad Abdullah, head of the office.
More than 14 centers has been opened to deal with cases diagnosed with cholera across the governorate, he added.
