As of today, there are 193.767 Syrian Citizens at our Accommodation Centres

As of today, there are 193.767 Syrian citizens staying at the 14 Tent Cities, 1 Temporary Admission Centre and 3 Container Cities established by Prime Ministry AFAD for those coming from Syria.

AFAD has erected a total of 14 tent-cities, with 5 in Hatay, 2 in Şanlıurfa, 3 in Gaziantep, and 1 each in Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Adıyaman and Adana along with 3 container-cities with 1each in Kilis, Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep.

Joint Statement of the Participating Countries in the Istanbul Meeting on Syria, 20 April 2013

Foreign Ministers of Egypt, France, Germany, Jordan, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK, USA and Turkey came together in Istanbul on 20 April to review the developments in Syria. The Ministers were extremely concerned with the situation in Syria which is a result of the brutal campaign of the regime. They agreed that immediate action has to be taken to bring this conflict to an end.

The TRCS which has been delivering relief to the people in needs regardless of race, religion, language, gender and nation for 145 years, has responded to the hundreds disasters, relieved hundreds and thousands people wounds in the year of 2012. While TRCS has been responding various earthquake, fire, flood, landslide and etc taking place in various region of Turkey In particular Van Earthquake Humanitarian Relief Operation, at the same time, TRCS initiated a lot of humanitarian relief operation in abroad in particular in Syria, in Somalia, Gaza and Myanmar.

Private companies join forces with UN agencies to boost disaster preparedness and relief

New York, 11 December 2012: Private-public partnerships can play an effective part in increasing disaster preparedness and response, according to UN officials and representatives of global corporations who took part in a debate in New York yesterday. The event was hosted by the missions of Turkey and Germany to the United Nations, with the aim of highlighting the role of the private sector in reducing the suffering caused by natural hazards.

Amount collected in Myanmar humanitarian aid campaign accounts

As of today 52.012.718,00 USD has been collected in humanitarian aid accounts which have been opened cin the presence of Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency, Presidency of Religious Affairs, Turkish Religious Foundation and Turkish Red Crescent.

We would like to appreciate the all institutions and organizations with beneficient citizens in order to assist the Muslim brothers who have been living such severe days in Arakan (Rakhaine) region of Myanmar because of internal conflicts, ethnic slaughter and poverty.

Delivery of humanitarian aid has started at the Syrian border zero point

PRESS RELEASE (18 AUGUST 2012)

Having regard to the difficulties in extending humanitarian assistance to the northern parts of Syria due to the rising violence in these regions, Turkey, in accordance with the international law, has started delivering humanitarian aid at the Syrian border zero point under the coordination of AFAD. The Government has notified the United Nations, and the Turkish Red Crescent has informed its interlocutors in respect of the operation.
