Belgrade, 30 April 2012 – Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac spoke today with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen about security issues in Kosovo-Metohija, with a special emphasis on the preparations and course of the presidential and parliamentary elections which will be held in Serbia on 6 May.

The Ministry of Defence says in a statement the Sutanovac welcomed the increase in KFOR troops and their preventive and temporary deployment, with the aim of ensuring the safety of all citizens in Kosovo-Metohija.

Belgrade, 23 April 2012 – Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic stated today that Serbia will do everything so that presidential and parliamentary elections are held in the southern Serbian province and reiterated that that is not a violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

During a meeting with Head of the Office for Europe and Latin America of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations Peter Schmitz, Bogdanovic underlined that for Serbia the UNMIK is a legitimate international representative in Kosovo-Metohija and a guarantor of Resolution 1244.

Belgrade, 11 April 2012 – Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria Wolfgang Waldner agreed during today’s talks that the most important thing is to create conditions for the full safety of all citizens in the province.

Bogdanovic and Waldner agreed that the priority at this moment is to reduce tensions caused by the recent incidents.

Belgrade, 28 Feb 2012 – Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic and Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert delivered non-repayable aid of €2.6 million to representatives of 25 municipalities for projects of social inclusion of refugees and IDPs, part of an EU funded programme.

At a ceremony at the Palace of Serbia, Ljajic said that with 74,500 refugees and around 200,000 IDPs, Serbia is the 13th country in Europe in terms of the number of the number of refugees.

Belgrade, 25 Feb 2012 – Head of the Serbian government’s team for dialogue with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic stated today that yesterday’s agreement made between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels is fully in accordance with the Constitution and national interests of Serbia.

Stefanovic underlined at a press conference that with this agreement Serbia did not recognise the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija, nor will ever do.

Following the proposal of the National Emergency Management HQ after last session held on 26 February 2012, the Government of the Republic of Serbia revoked the Emergency Situation on 27 February 2012.

Belgrade/Brussels, 24 Feb 2012 – Head of the Serbian government’s team for dialogue with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic said that the delegations of Belgrade and Pristina reached today an agreement on Kosovo's regional representation and that a technical protocol on joint management of the administrative crossings was adopted.

Stefanovic expressed satisfaction over the successful outcome of negotiations on this issue and stressed that the agreement reached is in full compliance with our state and national interests.

Belgrade, 13 Feb 2012 – The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija has sent today an emergency aid worth RSD 2 million to the families of the people who died yesterday in a snow avalanche in the village of Restelica near Dragas municipality in Kosovo-Metohija.

This money is only the most urgent part of the aid, which the Ministry will continue to provide to the families of the victims and the villagers of Restelica.

Belgrade, 22 Dec 2011 – Director of the Office of Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic stated that at today’s session the government adopted conclusions regarding the Report on dialogue with interim institutions of self-government in Pristina in terms of university diplomas and integrated control of the administrative line.

Mihajlovic told a press conference following the session that a decree about the freedom of movement was also adopted, regulating the control of crossings over the administrative line.

Belgrade, 13 Dec 2011 – Head of the Serbian team for dialogue with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic stated that Serbia today began to implement a part of agreements reached in dialogue with Pristina, with EU mediation, primarily the agreement on customs seals and registers of births, marriages and deaths.

Stefanovic told Tanjug news agency that as soon as the Serbian government passes the required decisions, the remaining agreements will also be implemented.
