CARE International has operated in Mozambique since 1986. During the 1986-1990 periods, CARE worked exclusively on emergency response and conducted a large food distribution program to war affected communities. From 1990 to 1994, CARE continued its food distribution activities while expanding its portfolio to include development projects, particularly in the WASH, health and HIV, agriculture, natural resources management and financial services sectors; all with a women’s empowerment and gender equality focus.
CARE is seeking an Associate Director of Development to plan, direct and implement individual fund raising with a portfolio of major and planned giving prospects and donors in the Northeast region of the United States. Based in the New York City office and travelling throughout the region, the Associate Director works with individual donors and family/private foundations to raise major gifts for CARE’s unrestricted program, The Impact Fund, as well as restricted gifts focused on CARE’s core programs.
