The Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU), at its 668th meeting held on 20 March 2017, adopted the following decision on the situation in Western Sahara:
Addis Ababa, 18 March 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, travelled to Mogadishu, Somalia on his first official visit, four days after taking up his new position as the head of the African Union Commission. This visit to Somalia demonstrates his commitment and the determination of the African Union towards the restoration of peace and security in the country.

The League of Arab States (LAS), the African Union (AU), the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) held a meeting at the headquarters of the League of Arab States on 18 March 2017 to discuss the situation in Libya and further coordinate their efforts in order to advance the political process and assist Libya in its democratic transition.
