HHRD health Response: To assist flood victims, HHRD is focusing to provide preventive and curative primary health care along with medicines. To date, 314 medical camps have been organized, through a strong and effective network of doctors, paramedics and volunteers, in 12 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces. HHRD has appointed two experts - Mr.Shahid Iqbal and Mr. Abdul Aziz Bhutto- as health Coordinators in Punjab and Sindh respectively.
Health and Hygiene Promotion: HHRD completed Health and hygiene promotion activities in Sukkur and Rohri (Sindh). Mr. Imran Khan, the Assistant Manager WASH, reports that the planned target of hygiene kits distribution in 500 families and 10 hygiene awareness sessions has been achieved. The project has also addressed non-muslim community. This project has been completed with the collaboration of Ihsan trust, Meezan bank.
Fitra and Eid Gift Project: To implement food distribution project across Pakistan, HHRD began to supply food. Yesterday, 25.2 MT food has been supplied to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The distribution will begin on Saturday, September 4, 2010 and will be completed within a week. Almost 59,000 most vulnerable individuals will be the beneficiaries.
