Continuing insecurity, with no visible chance
for its abating, is beginning to raise concerns about whether the IDPs
will be able to gain access to their homes and fields to cultivate food
in the coming major season in the region, which starts around March 2003.
According to a November 2002 World Food Program assessment report of Kotido, Moroto and Nakapiripirit Districts, 2002 harvests in this northeastern region's single and only season were below normal. (see FEW report for further details)
