South Sudan: Assessed flood affected population (as of 15 October 2013)

Aid organizations continued to respond to the needs of people affected by seasonal flooding since August. So far, more than 150,000 people were accessed and assessed to be in need of assistance in Jonglei, Lakes, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Unity, Upper Nile, Warrap, Western Bahr el Ghazal and Western Equatoria. Aid organizations are responding with food, household items, WASH and medical assistance. As of 15 October almost 91,300 people have received assistance. Access challenges remain due to lack of logistics capacity with many flooded areas only accessible by air, but needs assessments are ongoing in areas that are accessible.
