Rainfall Performance (29th March to 4th April 2013)
Moderate to heavy rains continued to be received in most parts of the country during the last seven days.
The Ethiopian highlands within the Juba and Shabelle catchments also received moderate rains.
Observed River levels along the Juba and Shabelle Rivers have risen dramatically over the last three days. In particular river levels are very high along the lower reaches of the Shabelle River leading to a moderate risk of flooding which may be worsened by weak river embankments and artificial river breakages along the reach.
