Pakistan Earthquake 2015 Update # 1 - 26th October 2015

Highlights:

  • An earthquake of the magnitude of 7.5 struck Pakistan and Afghanistan, the quake was 196km deep and centered 82 km of Feyzabad in a remote area of Afghanistan in Hindu Kush mountain range.

  • 221 deaths have been reported through different media groups in Pakistan.

  • Highest number of deaths have been reported from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, around 208.

  • Maximum number of deaths have taken place in tribal area of Bajaur, around 100.

  • Over 1,000 people have been reported injured and have been hospitalized in various hospitals over the country.

  • Districts with highest death tolls, injuries and misc. damages:

  • KPK/FATA: Chitral, Peshawar, Bajaur, Shangla and Malakand Division.
