I. HIGHLIGHTS/KEY PRIORITIES

• As of 12 June, the total number of Internally Displaced People (IDP) within Mali is estimated at 167,257. The number of Malian refugees registered in Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Niger is now 172,647. According to a statement by the Algerian government in March, at least 30,000 more are in Algeria.

• Concerns are growing about children’s education in the northern part of the Mali, with report of schools being vandalized or closed.

• WFP started a cash transfer operation in Koulikouro region on 6 June.

• UNICEF delivered 1,447 cartons of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food in the first week of June, bringing the total 12,848 since the beginning of crisis.
