Map Information
A severe cold spell that hit Laos over the last few days has taken its toll on the northern region with more than 4000 livestock killed and a wide area of crops damaged. Preliminary data show that more than 400 hectares of crops and herbal plants were covered by snow and a large area of fruit trees were affected. It is also predicted that thousands of hectares of crops, herbal plants and fruit trees will suffer from the cold weather.
The present map shows basic topographic features derived from public datasets, refined by means of visual interpretation of the pre-event imagery.
