Weather Forecast

Synoptic Situation: Monsoon axis runs through Rajasthan, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across Central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends to Northwest Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain/T. showers accompanied by tempo. gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Temperature: Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Flood Outlook

  • The Brahmaputra, Jamuna, Padma and the upper Meghna rivers are in falling trend.

  • The Ganges is in rising trend.

  • The Kangsha at Jariajanjail & the Lakhya at Narayanganj are flowing above their respective danger level by 71 cm and 5 cm as recorded today at 06.00 AM.

Next 24 hours

  • Brahmaputra, Jamuna, Padma and Meghna rivers may fall.

  • Ganges River may rise.

  • Flood situation in Netrokona and Narayangonj may improve.
