The timely action undertaken by ARCS was supported by effective preparedness measures that included the release of strategically located relief item stocks, as well as experienced and trained first responder teams that conducted assessments and provided immediate health assistance.
Based on the situation, this revised Emergency Appeal responds to a request from ARCS, and focuses on providing support to take an appropriate and timely response in delivering assistance through provision of non-food items, preventative and curative health services, and water, sanitation and hygiene promotion activities.
