The Specialist, Emergency Food Security & Livelihoods plays a key role in increasing the Hunger and Livelihoods Department’s level of response in emergencies and so raising Save the Children US’s emergency response capacity. S/he contributes to Hunger and Livelihoods Department’s capacity to prevent and respond to food and livelihood insecurity in emergencies by providing decision and planning support to Save the Children International’s (SCI) country and regional offices (CO & RO); program design, management, and evaluation; capacity strengthening and knowledge management.

The Senior Specialist, Child Protection, provides technical assistance to ensure quality child protection (CP) programs, with a priority for support to programs in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Eurasia. Technical assistance will be provided in development and emergency contexts to develop, implement, improve, and evaluate child protection programs, and contribute to program learning and innovation. He/she will lead on child protection proposal development for supported countries.

USAID's Federally Administered Tribal Areas-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (FATA-KP) Health Program has a goal of improving maternal and child health outcomes in four agencies of FATA (North and South Waziristan, Mohmand and Bajour) and seven districts in Malakand Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province over a period of five years (2012–2017).

Save the Children is the lead implementing partner on the FATA-KP Health Program and manages the program from its Peshawar office.

This position supports SC/US's resource mobilization of new institutional funding through strategic and operational planning and coordination with Country Offices and Thematic Teams to position for and pursue new large-scale, high priority funding opportunities in Africa, with particular focus on USAID.
