Médecins du Monde (MdM) is a French INGO which has been operating in Myanmar since 1994. Its main program is a comprehensive Harm Reduction and HIV/AIDS prevention and care program focusing on the high risk groups of Drug Users (Kachin), Female Sex Workers and Men having Sex with Men (Yangon). In addition, MdM is implementing, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, a Mother and Child Health (MCH) program in the Delta area, and is currently launching a new program to support the provision of basic health services in IDP camps in Kachin State.

Your task

oral interpretation: from Bengali to English, and English to Bengali during confidential interviews with persons detained in prisons, ICRC institutional dissemination, message delivery and visits to families of detainees

written translation: translation of written Bengali (newspaper articles, correspondence, etc.) into written English

analysis and reporting: analysis of conditions of detention, security and other matters relating to the ICRC's mandate
