The Urban Services Initiative (USI) is a multi-year project within J-PAL encompassing a number of activities. The overall goal of this initiative is to identify and rigorously evaluate innovative methods designed to improve the welfare of the urban poor in Asia and Africa. USI covers a broad range of urban issues, including water, sanitation and hygiene, migrant integration and livelihoods, energy and the environment, transportation, housing and infrastructure, and the delivery of health and education services.
USI has three main objectives:

The main objective of the project or assignment is to develop pearl culture technology and mussel
breeding technical knowledge and expert on this subject is not available in Bangladesh. So, foreign technical personnel’s are required to develop the technology.
