Are you an experienced Manager with proven leadership and project cycle management experience? An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our Middle East Programme for an Area Coordinator, working in Salah-D'In governorate, Iraq.

The successful candidate will have relevant humanitarian and leadership experience, coupled with experience in project design and management, donor grant management, proposal writing, finance and strategic planning. Experience of working in complex insecure locations is absolutely essential.

Responsibilities will include the management of staff responsible for site specific financial, logistics and human resources functions and regular communication with other agencies, partner organisations and with the Iraq and Middle East Response Directors.

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of operating in insecure environments. In addition, they should have experience of multi-sector management and implementation, monitoring and evaluation as well as strategic planning, capacity building and team management in relief environments. The candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication skills and be a strong negotiator and problem solver.

Please note: Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Ministry of Interior has issued new rules prohibiting residents from 10 countries entering the Kurdistan Region, even if they have a valid visa.

The ruling means Kurdistan Region visas will not be issued to people from the 10 countries of Ethiopia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Niger, Uganda, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Haiti and DR Congo. Residents will not be allowed to enter the Kurdistan Region, even if they have secured a visa from an Iraqi embassy or consulate.
