About 12,000 families in the Coastal and South Sierra areas of Oaxaca were affected by Hurricane Carlotta, which made landfall on 15 Jun 2012 as a category one storm. At least seven people died, 29,000 houses were damaged, and more than 81 municipalities declared a state of emergency. (OCHA, 25 Jun 2012)
On 15 June, Hurricane Carlotta hit the coastal areas of Oaxaca state, where 103 municipalities were declared under a state of emergency. A total of 12,000 families were affected. At least seven people died and 29,000 houses were damaged.
