Haiti: Floods - Nov 2014

Disaster description

Heavy rainfall starting at the beginning of November 2014 caused flooding and landslides in Northern Haiti, killing 17 people. More than 15,000 houses were flooded, 90 were destroyed and 800 were severely damaged. Over 6,500 people were temporarily housed in emergency shelters. The floods also affected over 2,200 hectares of crops in one of the country’s most fertile areas. (UNDP, 14 Nov 2014)
