Disaster description
Isolated, torrential rainfall as part of the Long Rains season caused flooding in several parts of Kenya between the middle of March and May 2013. The worst affected areas included the Marsabit, Isiolo, Narok Kajiado provinces further south, and Tana River. (FEWS, 10 Apr 2013)
By the end of the season, more than 140,000 people had been displaced and 96 deaths had been recorded. (IFRC, 14 Nov 2013)
