Russian Federation: Floods - Mar 2010

Disaster description

Between 22 and 26 March 2010, a sharp increase in the temperature, from minus 10 degrees to plus 10 degrees Celsius triggering, the melting of snow caused floods, inundating seven settlements in four municipal districts in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. Some 3,250 people, including 197 children were affected and had to be evacuated into temporary shelter solutions. IFRC, 12 Apr 2010
