Sana'a (dpa) - Lightning and flash
floods caused by torrential rains have killed eight people in Yemen in
the past two days, police officials said Friday.
Five people, including two women, were
killed by lightning strikes in three incidents in the northern Saada province
and the central province of Raima on Wednesday, they said.
On Thursday, flash floods in the southern
province of Taiz swept away farming areas, killing three people. Eight
people were injured when floods hit a marketplace in the southeastern Mukalla
city.
