Gabon: Floods - Jun 2012

Disaster description

In early June 2012, a violent rainstorm hit Libreville, the capital of Gabon, causing floods in the residential areas in more than 12 neighborhoods. The floodwaters caused extensive damage to houses and infrastructure, affecting over 77,000 people. Over 1,600 people were displaced when their homes were damaged or destroyed and their belongings lost. (IFRC, 31 Jan 2013)
