Overview

At least four people were killed and over 100 injured when a 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit a mountainous area at the border of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces in southwest China on 24 Jun 2012. The quake toppled over 4,280 houses and cut roads and water supplies, disrupting the lives of more than 21,800 people. (Xinhua, 25 Jun 2012)
