Residents appeal for aid as more aftershocks hit Indonesian quake town

JAKARTA, Nov 28 (AFP) - Residents in an Indonesian town complained Sunday that they had not received aid two days after an earthquake killed 17 people as more aftershocks forced them to remain in the open or seek shelter in tents. A series aftershocks have rattled the coastal town of Nabire in the easternmost province of Papua since the powerful temblor killed 17 people and injured more than 180 on Friday.

"We're not shocked any more. We just accept what happens," resident Alex Erari told Elshinta radio from the town, which was still recovering from a deadly quake in February.
