Overview

The department of Potosí (south east border with Chile) has been declared a disaster area due to the cold front affecting the country. The snow has reached a height of 1.60 meter in some communities and is affecting about 6,000 people, plus 41,000 cattle's heads. (UN OCHA, 11 Jul 2011)
