Disaster description
An avalanche hit villages in Qandia valley - including the Bagroo Dara, Seri and Gatloo areas - in the Kohistan District of the North-West Frontier Province on 16 February 2010. According to local resident accounts, more than 120 deaths were reported, while 220 houses comprising of approximately 1,500 - 2,000 individuals were affected in Bagroo Dara.
