Ugandan refugees, children to be repatriated to Uganda

KHARTOUM, April 1 (AFP) - Dozens of Ugandan refugees and abducted children will be flown back home on Sunday in coordination with the United Nations, a Sudanese humanitarian aid official said.
Humanitarian aid commissioner Sulaf Eddin Salih was quoted by Al-Sahafi Al-Dawli newspaper Saturday as saying Uganda had informed Sudan it was ready to receive home 42 refugees who have shown willingness to return.

The refugees will be accompanied by eight children who were in the custody of the Ugandan opposition Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) in Sudan, Salih said.

Large tracts of parched pas-toral areas in the SNNPR, Oromiya and Somali Re-gions continued, literally, to burn under extended dryness. If the belg rains do finally come in late March or early April, they could help to alleviate the

Fresh Military Tension Flares In Kisangani

KIGALI, Rwanda (PANA) - Tension is building up again in the Democratic Republic of Congo's third largest city of Kisangani, where the Ugandan army is "consolidating its positions" in violation of an accord signed in August to demilitarise the town, Rwanda's national radio reported.
It claimed that the Ugandan army had also cut off all major roads linking the city and panic was engulfing the residents.

Rwandan forces support a faction of the Rally for Congolese Democracy, led by Emile Ilunga, while Uganda backs the Bunia wing, led by Ernest Wamba Dia Wamba.

"We think that this person is partial," Mulumba added. "It's (President Laurent) Kabila who is attacking us
