The water team of SARC Hasakeh branch in cooperation with ICRC and in coordination with Water Establishment in Hasakeh rehabilitated and reactivated water systems in Tell and Tell Hamees towns in Hasakeh on 04/01/2017.

The team rehabilitated and activated 13 boreholes and the building of the water unit in Tell Brak town, while in Tell Hamees town they rehabilitated and activated 8 boreholes as well as Tell Athan water station.

This work will secure drinkable water for more than 45,000 beneficiaries.

BEIRUT, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Syrian government forces fired rockets at a rebel-held area on Damascus's outskirts on Sunday, pressing an attack that began the day before and has killed up to 16 people, a medical worker and war monitors said.

As part of President Erdoğan Visit to Qatar

February 18th, 2017 ― Doha: A high-profile delegation of the Turkish Red Crescent visited Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) to hold meetings with QRCS top officials and sign a framework agreement for further humanitarian cooperation.

The Turkish delegation was in Doha as part of the visit of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to deepen bilateral diplomatic relations between the two nations.

February 19th, 2017 ― Doha: Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) has opened a series of humanitarian projects with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in the Bekaa, Lebanon.

Also, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the Chairman of KRCS, Dr. Helal Al-Sayer, and Head of QRCS's Mission in Lebanon, Omar Katerji. Then, they visited the new projects, accompanied by the officials of both Missions.

Toronto,ON- Six hospitals have been partially put out of service in Daraa in the past week. The violence has rapidly escalated in several areas throughout Daraa since the 5th of February. Area hospitals have been put out of service after being targeted directly and indirectly with some partially operating. Three nurses were wounded in the attacks along with civilians killed. The danger to doctors and medical staff in the area has reached a critical level, endangering the civilian population.

Trends of Sea Arrivals

Between 06 and 12 February, 207 refugees and migrants arrived to Greece by sea – a decrease from the 460 who arrived the previous week. The number of sea arrivals fluctuated between 0 arrivals (09-12 February) and 57 (07 February). Kastelorizo recorded the majority of estimated sea arrivals (85), followed by Lesvos (54). Comparing with the previous week the average number of daily arrivals decreased from 66 to 30.

Hassan*, 15, is one of an estimated 1.8 million people who were left without running water in Aleppo for nearly a month, as ISIS militants, in control of the main water source to the city, had reportedly shut down the water supply.

The young boy fills two jerry cans from a public well, and heads back home to his mother and sister in Aleppo. He will do the trip several times to fulfill their water needs.

16 February 2017 – Assurances have been given to humanitarians by the Syrian Government that obstacles to aid deliveries will be removed across the war-torn country, a senior United Nations adviser said today.

Speaking to journalists in Geneva, UN Special Adviser Jan Egeland said that the agreement was needed to remove what he called an “administrative quagmire” that has prevented all aid from reaching besieged populations by road so far this year.
