La 10e réunion consultative conjointe annuelle du CPS de l’Union africaine (UA) et du Conseil de sécurité de l’Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU) a été marquée par des tensions concernant l’ordre du jour.

Les questions liées au financement et à la coordination entre l’ONU et l’UA dans la prévention des crises ont dominé le débat ouvert.

Le CPS veut que les pays membres africains du Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU lui fassent rapport sur la façon dont ils collaborent pour défendre ses décisions.

The 10th Joint Consultative Meetings between the PSC and the United Nations Security Council were marked by tension over the agenda and diverse approaches to decisionmaking.

Funding and joint action to prevent crises dominated the open debate in New York on the roles of the United Nations and the African Union in peacekeeping.

The PSC wants African members of the United Nations Security Council to report to it on how they have worked together to defend PSC decisions.

June 21st, 2016 ― Doha: Under the Ramadan Iftar program, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is implementing food aid distributions in three African countries, at a total cost of $237,000 (QR 851,579), for the benefit of 24,040 internally displaced people (IDPs).

In Somalia, QRCS's mission in Mogadishu distributes $100,000 food packages to 1,560 families (9,360 people) in several IDP camps across the Banaadir region.

Each package contains 90 kg of food items such as maize, rice, sugar, powdered milk, dates, and vegetable oil.

Australia and the world’s wealthiest nations have failed to deliver on promises to increase resettlement for the world’s neediest refugees, new figures from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have highlighted.

With the total number of refugees reaching 21.3 million and forced displacement exceeding 65 million, just 107,000 refugees were given the chance to resettle in 2015 – equivalent to just 0.5% of the global refugee population.

  • The overall number of refugees and migrants in Greece, including the islands, was reported as 57 113 on 12 June.

  • On 13 June, evacuation began of informal sites at Polykastro, close to the northern border and the former Idomeni site. Around 300 officers took part in the operation to relocate a total of around 4 000 migrants from the makeshift sites into state-run facilities.

Aujourd’hui, dans la majorité des conflits armés, ce sont les civils qui sont les plus durement touchés, se sont alarmés les 74 intervenants, dont le Président de la République centrafricaine et six ministres africains.
