En esta octava edición del Anuario de Procesos de Paz se analizan los conflictos en los que se llevan a cabo negociaciones para llegar a un acuerdo de paz, con independencia de que estas negociaciones estén formalizadas, se encuentren en fase exploratoria, transcurran satisfactoriamente o, por el contrario, se encuentren estancadas o en plena crisis. También se analizan algunos casos donde las negociaciones o exploraciones son parciales, es decir, que no abarcan la totalidad de los grupos armados presentes en un país (caso de la India, por ejemplo).

Refugees in Moldova get on the property ladder with UNHCR help

CHISINAU, Republic of Moldova, April 19 (UNHCR) – After years of living in sub-standard and frequently costly housing, refugees in Moldova are reaping the benefits of a scheme that demonstrates how the country can provide inexpensive housing solutions for vulnerable people.

The new pilot housing scheme, established by UNHCR and the European Union (EU) under a local integration project for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, has seen four apartments handed over to refugees in the village of Mereni, about 25 kilometres south-east of Chisinau.

Global food price monitor with focus on the Horn of Africa - August 2011

Highlights Countries in this issue: - International prices of wheat decreased for the third consecutive month but those of rice continue to increase. Maize prices declined marginally. - In Eastern Africa, cereal prices are at generally high levels with new peaks reached in several countries. - In Western and Southern Africa, prices of coarse grains remained overall low despite some seasonal increases. - In Far East Asia, domestic prices of rice and wheat are moving upward. - In CIS countries, prices of wheat remained virtually unchanged despite ongoing harvests.
