Le Fonds Central d'Intervention d'Urgence des Nations Unies (CERF) a octroyé plus de 10,5 milliards FCFA ($19,8 millions) au cours des trois derniers mois pour la réponse humanitaire au Niger, en République Centrafricaine (RCA) et au Tchad. Avec 7,4 milliards FCFA ($14 millions), le Niger a été le principal bénéficiaire .

Pour rappel, plus de 10 milliards FCFA ($20,5 millions) avaient été alloués à 6 pays de la région au premier trimestre.

The Pandemic A (H1N1) incidence has drastically decreased and is no longer alarming in our Region. In total 32 countries have officially reported 17,128 laboratory confirmed human cases including 167 deaths. Since the beginning of this year we continued to face various acute crises. In addition, the year 2010 is carrying the legacy of all the protracted crises which are still ongoing. This issue of our weekly bulletin will make a retrospective update on January 2010 humanitarian events. The usual Weekly Emergency Situation Update will start next week.

The humanitarian situation of about 1.6 million people displaced in the eastern DRC is still of high concern because despite ongoing diplomatic talks, fighting continues. Killing of civilians and recruitment of child soldiers are now reported by UN peacekeepers.

- CAR: High concern over security situation in many areas. An unidentified armed group attacked a village of Ouamba in the South-west. This situation led to population displacement not yet quantified. Confirmed yellow fever cases in neighboring Bangui
