Selon la force de maintien de la paix des Nations Unies (MINUSCA), des combats entre groupes armés dans les villes de KagaBandoro et Ndomete au nord ont fait six morts le 16 septembre. Dénonçant la violence et mettant en garde contre les tentatives visant à provoquer une instabilité dans le pays, la MINUSCA a également renforcé sa présence dans les deux zones touchées et est intervenue entre les parties au conflit pour protéger les civils.

SIX KILLED IN MILITIA FIGHTING
Fighting between armed groups in the northern Kaga-Bandoro and Ndomete towns on 16 September claimed six lives, according to the UN peacekeeping force MINUSCA. Denouncing the violence and warning against attempts to cause instability in the country,
MINUSCA has reinforced its presence in the two affected areas and intervened between the warring sides to safeguard civilians.

Le mauvais état des infrastructures routières à travers le pays continue d’entraver les opérations d'aide humanitaire, particulièrement pendant la saison des pluies. Du fait des routes endommagées, la distribution de denrées alimentaires à 1 712 ménages vulnérables de la sous-province du Gazi est suspendue depuis fin juin. Le Cluster Logistique dirige une initiative de mobilisation des ressources afin d’améliorer l’accès routier.

OVER 1,700 HOUSEHOLDS DEPRIVED OF ASSISTANCE

Poor road infrastructure throughout the country continues to hamper humanitarian access, particularly during the rainy season.
Due to damaged roads, food distribution has been suspended to 1,712 vulnerable households in the Gazi sub-province since the end of June. The Logistics Cluster leads an initiative to mobilize resources to improve road access.

Switzerland - IOM has appealed to donors to address the humanitarian crisis affecting the Lake Chad Basin, which has displaced nearly three million people in four countries, and the crisis in the Central African Republic, which has displaced a further 400,000.

The Lake Chad Basin crisis began in 2014 with the Boko Haram insurgency and ensuing military operations in the region. Thousands have lost their lives and millions have been displaced across Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon and Chad.
