  • Déficits céréalier et fourrager confirmés. La production pour les pays du Sahel enregistre une baisse de 3% par rapport à la moyenne quinquennale et de 26% par rapport à la production agricole 2010/2011.
  • Au 1er avril, la méningite a fait au moins 749 morts et affecté 8.667 personnes en Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre, soit une létalité de 8,64%.

MANO RIVER UNION: Child refugees sexually exploited by aid workers

Refugee children in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone have been subjected to sexual abuse and exploitation, reportedly by employees of national and international NGOs, UN agencies, fellow refugees, security forces of host countries and other persons, according to a joint assessment by UNHCR and Save the Children-UK.

LIBERIA: Des milliers de déplacés à la suite des combats

Les combats de cette semaine entre les troupes loyales au président Charles Taylor et les forces rebelles à Bong Mine, à environ 80 km au nord-est de la capitale, Monrovia, ont déplacé au moins 20 000 personnes, a annoncé jeudi le Haut Commissariat des Nations unies pour les réfugiés (HCR).

LIBERIA: Thousands displaced following fighting

Fighting this week between troops loyal to President Charles Taylor and rebel forces in Bong Mine, some 80 km northeast of the capital, Monrovia, displaced at least 20,000 people, UNHCR said on Thursday.

The government said this week that it had repulsed the rebels and also beaten back "serious threats" from rebels at Klay Junction and from the Bomi provincial seat of Tubmanburg,
