Around 613 tones of food aid were required to feed approximately 2,270 families (11,350 people) at a half ration, for a six month period beginning in November; WFP had confirmed its availability. Prospects are not promising for the Karan/Karma-dependent areas (the interior plans and highlands), which face a six month dry season before the next rainy season resumes in April 2005.
