Health authorities adopt strategy to improve child health in the Americas

Health leaders in the Americas adopted a strategy and plan of action for integrated child health, which includes measures to prevent and reduce the burden of disease in children under 5, improve child nutrition, and build capacity among different health institutions and other sectors to improve integrated child health.

The strategy was adopted by ministers of health from throughout the Americas during the 28th Pan American Sanitary Conference, held last week at the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in Washington, D.C.

Sous la direction du Coordonnateur Humanitaire, Ndolamb Ngokwey, l'Equipe humanitaire de Côte d'Ivoire, composée d'organisations non gouvernementales et d'agences des Nations Unies, s'est rendue à l'ouest du pays, les 8 et 9 janvier dernier, afin d'évaluer la situation des 16.000 déplacés internes en fuite à cause de la crise politique postélectorale qui persiste entre le président sortant Laurent Gbagbo et Alassane Ouattara.

Des femmes ivoiriennes viennent chercher de l'eau à Guiglo.
