In the context of the donor conference for Mali taking place in Brussels today, Minister for Development Cooperation Jean-Pascal Labille stated that Belgium would actively support the recovery process in Mali. To this end, Belgium will provide a financial contribution of EUR 17.3 million in 2013 and EUR 14.2 million in 2014.

For Jean-Pascal Labille, this support illustrates our country’s solidarity with the Malian people, who are currently experiencing a very dark time in their country’s history.

During the last decade, Niger has witnessed repeated drought cycles, strong desertification and the highest population growth worldwide. Food insecurity is very high in Niger. It affects 80% of the population and especially in rural areas households are vulnerable to it.

According to Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Kingdom of Belgium will grant € 30 million of non-refundable aid to help Vietnam implement projects in the field of water management and sanitation in response to climate change and green growth. It is a priority area of cooperation between the two governments in the period 2011 - 2015.
