This revised Emergency Appeal seeks 203,035 Swiss francs to enable the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support the Argentine Red Cross (ARC) to deliver assistance and support to 12,500 people with a focus on first aid, shelter, health and care, psycho-social support (PSS), water, sanitation, hygiene promotion, livelihoods, disaster preparedness and institutional capacity building. In direct coordination with ARC, the IFRC is revising this emergency appeal and reducing the operation's timeframe from 12 to 10 months.

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake shook an area near Argentina's northern border with Bolivia on Thursday, the US Geological Survey reported.

The quake, which struck at 1415 GMT, was centered about 48 kilometers (30 miles) northwest of the town of Abra Pampa, Argentina at a depth of 258.1 kilometers, the agency said.

 51 countries and territories with a first reported outbreak from 2015 onwards (Table 1).

 Four countries are classified as having possible endemic transmission or have reported evidence of local mosquito-borne Zika infections in 2016.
