ReliefWeb's immensely popular Jobs section makes it an ideal platform for your job advertisements targeting humanitarian professionals. With over 1,500 organizations posting roughly 35,000 job announcements in the last 12 months with more than 40,000 visits a day, you'll want to make sure that your job postings are seen by the right people. To help you better target your advertisements, we have been continuously improving the jobs form. So here are some useful tips on how you can increase the searchability of your job postings to attract the best candidates.

Title - Title should be short, clear, and concise. The title is what grabs job seekers’ attention and makes them want to find out more about the job. We also encourage using certain keywords which may include essential skills and targeted audience - e.g. Finance Officer, Fluent in French, DRC National.

ReliefWeb received, on average, about 1.3 million visits a month in 2016. Our users visit the site to search for the latest crisis information, job announcements and opportunities to brush up their skills and knowledge. They access the site from the field and headquarters, using various devices.

As an operator of a major humanitarian information platform, we have been improving our Google Analytics data gathering in order to improve our services based on user behaviors. The continuous improvements to our API in the past years have made it easier to analyze what’s in our content repository with information dating back to 1996, which we made available to users via Content Trends alpha in 2014.

In 2015, we published more than 30,000 jobs from almost 1,500 humanitarian organizations, which were viewed 13.6 million times. That number gives us insight into how many of you are searching for your next challenging job opportunity on ReliefWeb. Given the high volume of jobs published on ReliefWeb - averaging 100 a day! - we understand that it is crucial for you to be able to drill down into the job advertisements according to your qualifications and interests in a time-efficient manner.

More than 1,400 humanitarian organizations have used ReliefWeb’s job section to reach out and find the right candidates. In 2014 humanitarian organizations advertised over 26,500 jobs on ReliefWeb to approximately almost 5 million visitors. Finding the right candidates at the right time, however, can be a challenge, so to help humanitarian recruiters we’ve made some improvements to our jobs posting system.
